End of the month so it must be time for John Congemi to show up for a free breakfast.  John reported that Douglas will hold a golf tournament on May 16 to help raise funds for a press box at the new stadium, there will be the annual ethical seminar on April 16, and the next Partners in Excellence meeting will be April 11.

The Senior of the Month is David Yakobovich who has a 5.06 GPA.  He has over 40 trophies for math competitions and has over 100 service hours as a math tutor.  His other interest is Journalism and he writes for the school paper as well as the Sun Sentinel.  He is a member of, and web master for, the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honors group, and he has made application at UF, UM, U Penn, Yale, Harvard and Columbia.  We wish him well.

District 22 Congressman Ron Klein was our guest speaker.  His description of his district was "gerrymandering at its best".  It runs from parts of Davie to the south all the way to Jupiter to the north - over 75 miles.  He is a freshman Congressman with offices in Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.  He serves on the House Committee on Foreign Affairs and the House Committee on Financial Services.  As is to be expected the give and take session was focused on the current state of the economy and the Congressman's efforts to create a responsible budget and a "Pay as you Go" philosophy with no or limited borrowing.  The Congressman's web site is http://www.klein.house.gov/

After the meeting the two Drews got $1000 from WalMart for the Golf Tournament
