Short Term Exchangees Manuela and Ségalène

Short Term Exchange Program

Today we were joined by two more extraordinary young people. Our club is pleased to sponsor a Short Term Exchange Program (STEP) Rotary Youth Exchange homestay this summer. Manuella Mejia, who attended elementary and middle schools in Coral Springs and will be a junior at North Broward Preparatory this fall, and Ségalène Mirault of France already share several things, including a birthday. Now, they will share each other’s homes and cultures over a six week period from May 31 to July 12.

Ségalène is enjoying south Florida sights, beaches and SHOPPING for the first three weeks as she becomes part of the Ocampo/Mejia Family. On June 21, both girls will travel to France to live with the Mirault family and enjoy their summer traditions – including French Girl Scout camp. Both girls are active in scouting, love music, play flute, and will turn 16 in September. The club wishes them both a great experience and we thank Mom Diana Ocampo for her enthusiastic participation in Youth Exchange.

On other club business, President Drew made several “getting-near-the-end” announcements and Big Drew did NOT pull the correct card, again.
