We were privileged to have as our speaker today county commissioner Stacey Ritter whose district encompasses Coral Springs and Parkland.  As one would expect the majority of her talk involved taxes - tax cuts, reduction in spending and services and how local governments are dealing with legislative proposals being enacted in Tallahassee, the latest being a reduction in Homestead taxation passed just the night before.  Stacey is a former state legislator and related how the process works at the state level and how friction can be formed by local and state legislators, even from the same district.

Today was also Senior of the Month day, and it was Courtney Priolo's turn today.  She is very active in service projects and mentoring, an outstanding student and will be attending FSU to study veterinary medicine.
