SARACARE

Located in Coral Springs in the center where Outback is found, SaraCare is an adult Day Care center providing a place for seniors with varying needs and care.  It provides activities, some speech and physical therapy as well as breakfast and lunch for its participants.  The participants are not just left to watch TV but are kept busy, within each participant's ability.  They have games to keep the participants minds active, as well as dancing, movies, gardening and other such activities, each scheduled each day so the participants are kept active.

This service is as much for the "care givers" - that is, the family members of the participants, as it is for the participants themselves.  Some of the participants have Alzheimer's and other such mentally debilitating diseases, and SaraCare offers a break in what would otherwise be a very stress filled day and life for the care givers.  Optional services, such as haircuts and beauty treatments, podiatry services and physical therapy is also available.

Alan's presentation was very well received and started some members thinking about such a service for some of their older family members.
