So we covered a lot of business today - golf ball drop, upcoming events, Bowlathon - good meeting and a room filling crowd.  Terrific meeting and Prez Bruce had it totally under control.  For sure drank the Kool Aid!

Our speaker today was John Brandt from the Miami Dolphins, and before we get into what he talked about you gotta hear this.  He was at our meeting a year ago and then Prez Drew (pre-baby) was all over him about Rotary.  Now we are not convenient to John but he took the bait.  And guess what - he is now a member of the Fort Lauderdale South Club.  Not only that, but he is Membership Chair.  Talk about doing the Kool Aid!  Hook, line and sinker!!

But enough of that.

John explained the launch of a new effort by the Dolphins to assist groups to have a Dolphin experience.  Through the years the team, and many of the individual players, have been very active in the community and with worthwhile community causes.  In the future the team will assist groups, like Rotary, to make a day at the game a fun and fund event,  and they will be assisting through the whole process - to aiding in the obtaining of transportation to arranging for tail gating opportunities.  Also mentioned was the upcoming Rotary Dolphin Day, November 16th.  While this will not be a fund raiser this year in the future this will provide an opportunity for one.

In other happenings, a bunch of golf ball drop tickets were sold today.  Need a few more members to kick in.
