This morning’s meeting was a club assembly. Prez Todd was AWOL, so Prez-Elect Bear ably stood in. Upcoming fundraisers were a hot topic, along with good news from Dennis (40th anniversary), Terry (third grandchild delivered), Harvey (first grandchild delivered) and Gloria (son out of hospital and doing well). Also a great source of cheer and happy $$ was Rabbi Mitch’s wardrobe choice – a stunning pair of pastel madras walking shorts.

John Congemi joined us, newly retired (for the third and presumably last) time after 46 years in education. He will be working as a volunteer and consultant with J.P. Taravella H.S. this year to help them get a Partner’s Program up and running smoothly, as well as initiating an Ethics Seminar like the one conducted for Stoneman Douglas students.

Our very special guest this morning was District Governor-Elect Doug Maymon. He presented four of our members with Paul Harris Fellow recognition. Harvey Adelson received his first PHF. Immediate Past Prez Bruce Goodman, PP Gloria Rossomano, and PP Terry Witcher each received additional PHF recognition.

We let J.C. pull the 50/50 ticket, with the understanding that he would not leave the building with cash. Bear, the winner, unfortunately did not pull the Ace of hearts. And the pot rolls over.
