OK, this is going to get a little confusing for the old farts.  First we have a Schumaker and then a Schumacher.  Now we have a Steve Holt and a Steve Hill.  But we welcome them all and happy to have them in the fold.   Our newest member, Steve Hill is joining under the classification of Corporate Finance.  Welcome aboard!

Our speaker today was Khalil Zehnia, Senior Vice President of Family Central.   He gave a background on the organization which was founded 40 years ago.  It now operates in three counties, has 450 employees and an annual budget of $195 million.

Family Central started out as an organization to just provide child care.  Now it is a comprehensive family support agency.  It currently serves 11,000 children with a waiting list of the same number.  Recently 1,500 have been enrolled with "stimulus" funds.   Some of the comprehensive family support services include home visits, parenting courses and early literacy assistance.

Our membership includes Barbara Weinstein, CEO of Family Central, and Andy Baranowski and Steve Holt, Family Central Board members.

It was a stirring induction!
