JILLIAN FLAN - OUTBOUND EXCHANGE STUDENT
We were treated today by a presentation from our 2005 - 2006 Outbound Exchange Student, Jillian Flan. She is a sophomore at Douglas High School and is a member of the Italian and Sign Language Clubs. She is taking many honors courses and is looking to broaden her horizons by being an exchange student. At this point she does not know to which country she will be assigned.
Jillian is a member of the Fire Cadets which is sponsored by the Coral Springs Fire Department. She recounted all of the training she has gone through at the meetings, including having to put out a burning car in a fire drill, and recover items from a dark, smoke filled room, wearing full turnout gear!
Also visiting was Andrea, our inbound from Italy, who had just spent a few days with his real family, and who was sporting a new "buzz cut". |
