U.S Masters Swimming Meet

The speakers today were Michael Loberg and Al Vitro - the former a swim coach with a lot of acclaim - coach to many Olympic swimmers and medal winners, and the latter a proud Dad to an up and coming swimmer who recently competed in Berlin, under Michael's tutelage.  And they are the co-chairs of an event that will occur at the Aquatics Center in May that will draw swimming competitors, aged 19 and up, from around the United States.  And we are talking serious numbers of swimmers here - like 1,600.  The last such event was last year and was hosted at the Swimming Hall of Fame in Fort Lauderdale.  In addition to the competitors there are families, trainers, supporters and all sorts of hangers on.  This is going to be a big feather in the cap of the City and the Aquatics Center - already known in the swimming community.  We hope we can support them and we wish them well.

It should be noted that Michael is the swim coach of our Inbound exchange student Stephan from 2 years ago and will probably coach our Inbound student next year from Germany.
