RETAIL SECURITY

     This was the topic of the day, and the speaker was Gary DiMaio from Retail Security Systems.  A former police officer with the City of Tamarac and speaker for the company for some time, Gary is now employed full time to deal with security and related issues with companies.  He gave great details about how he and his company help companies like 7 Eleven and similar stores curb the sale of alcohol and tobacco to underage buyers.  In addition his company deals with retail theft, both by the public and employees, the total of which runs in the BILLIONS each year; and of course we all pay for it.  Each of the company's investigators is licensed so as to bring a higher level of professionalism to their work.  A very interesting program.

     In other news those that attended the Rotary Gridiron Classic reported a great time was had by all, as the pictures posted elsewhere attest.  It should be noted that the individual who "posed" as our club President when meeting Rotary International President Rick King missed today's meeting.  Was there a "hit" out on Doug Betlach.
