Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Our speaker today was Natalie Blake of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The mother of a child suffering from Cystic Fibrosis, Natalie gave us an insight into the history of the disease, the required treatment for patients and the efforts of the foundation to raise funds for research and medical assistance for patients. She reported that 88% of the funds raised by the foundation go to research and assistance. The foundation is having a "Great Strides" walk on May 19th at various points around Broward and Dade, including Orchid Park in Coral Springs. Info can be obtained by calling 954-739-2890. Hardy Johnson, being the weenie that he is, is requesting a leave of absence due to increased responsibilities at Tarmac. Seems as how he now has to clean both the men's AND lady's rest rooms. So we will anxiously await his return. (We think he just got nervous being golf tournament chair, a position being half undertaken by Pat; and her co-chair is........) Parkland Build-a-park is set for February 18th at 12 noon. Our exchange student Max von Raben of Munich spent the weekend at Sea Camp at Big Pine Key. Pictures to the left. |
