SENIOR OF THE MONTH and THE ACE IS DRAWN!
It is the end of the month so John Congemi joined us for the Senior of the Month presentation. This month it was Chelsey Amelkin who spoke of her impressive record of service during her high school years, and a very impressive academic record as well. This Year she has been Co-President of National Honors Society, Vice President of Science National Honors Society, Brain Brawl Team, Member of Mu Alpha Theta, Member of English Honors Society and Member of Science Club. Some of her Major Projects in her career: House Painting Project - Organized a project in which 30 N.H.S. members repainted a woman's house after she had been in and out of the hospital, following a loss of 400 pounds. Her Upcoming Project: N.H.S. Fair - Overseeing a fair whose benefits go directly to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the Nation Honor Society. She is hoping to attend Princeton this fall.
The coup d'gras was the 50/50. After going 51 weeks with the prior deck of cards with no winner, forcing a roll over, we have gone 48 weeks with no winner and a ton o' losers. Well, wait no longer - John Congemi finally ended the draught and pulled the ace after 99 consecutive weeks without a winner. After pulling the ace is comment was " So what did I win - a hundred bucks." When told what he actually won it took a while to revive him!
