NEWCOMER'S CLUB

     "There are no strangers here, just friend you haven't met"

     This is the motto of the "Newcomer's Club" an organization of mostly women, working and non-working who meet ten times a year for formal meetings, but tons of times a year for social and civic events.  They have fund raising projects and fun projects - bowling leagues, card playing meetings (bridge, not poker we would suppose) BUT the group did just recently do an outing at the track.  (No report of winnings or loosings).

     This  is a very active group whose purpose is to encourage newcomers to meet others through social activities, and to encourage involvement in charitable and community activities.  Sounds like a fun group and it was a very interesting program.  Thanks to Drew for arranging for Hattie to speak.

NEWS

     Gloria reported with regret that due to a very heavy (actually impossible) travel schedule Hardy Johnson has submitted his resignation.  He did say that he would like to keep in touch and there is hope when this all ends he will come back - he will always be welcome.
