So, your Ace Cub Reporter here had the opportunity of sitting across from Ken Williams, the Speaker arranger for today, and a more lame ass excuse for a speaker not showing up one has never heard! What we think really happened is that Ken saw the picture of the REAL Al Harris on these pages and realized that Al is NOT a 60 year old fat balding white guy and that maybe his neighbor is an impostor!! We may never know!! But alas, all was not a total loss!! In lieu of whatever Ken would have dragged in we had the loquacious Paul Alcock, next year's Assistant Governor for our area. Apparently we wore out THIS year's Assistant, or ADG as Rotary aficionados like to say. Paul is a member of another Rotary Club but Ace Cub Reporter forgot to write down which one. Anyway he was here in the spirit of Rotary to introduce himself and to encourage the troops to go forth and multiply, and that it is OK to talk about one's business in a Rotary setting since, after all, that is how Rotary was founded in the first place. He also did the "rah rah" for the upcoming PETS seminar in Jupiter and he personally guaranteed to pay the way of all members that participate in the District Conference in September at Our Lucaya on Grand Bahama Island. What a sport!! |

NOTES Some good discussion about the golf tournament. Agreed to move it - just need to work out the details as to where - Eagle Trace or Coral Springs Country Club. Paul mentioned that we will have a table at the Kingston Trio Concert for promo stuff - Ace Cub will be there - any others?? The dates are set and the same hole as last year - that is the Honda Classic of course!! Sign up sheet is being circulated electronically!! |
