Senior of the Month
Today's meeting started with Douglas Assistant Principal John Congemi giving an update as to the goings on at the school. The school is preparing for the dreaded FCAT exams, which will take place over the next two weeks, and shortly thereafter the kids will have SPRING BREAK! (Can working people get a spring break - ANY break?)
We then had the opportunity to meet Michelle Ditto, the Senior of the Month for February. Aside from a whole host of school activities like Key Club (we won't hold that against her) she is a member of the school orchestra and a string quartet that does concerts at various local venues. She plays the violin and is learning the viola. She is taking AP Honors classes and will be going to the University of Florida to study Physics, mathematics and science. When she comes back to visit us we hope we know what she is talking about!
In the Rotary Foundation front it was announced that we are currently Number ! in per capita donations in the district. Way to go club! Way to go AL! And in other news.... Exchange student Andrea fills us in on his life. He is doing workouts with the Douglas High School football team and is playing on a Coral Springs Rec Basketball team with a current record of 3-1. Doing her very best "Clem Cadiddlehopper" impression Gloria gets her second level Paul Harris Fellow. |
