Barbara Haley

  4 CHILDREN'S S.A.K.E.

Golf Tournament Beneficiary

The program today was Barbara Haley from 4 Children's S.A.K.E., a 100% volunteer, privately funded charitable organization founded to meet the needs of Broward County's foster care children - abandoned and abused kids in need of help.  Their mission statement is as follows:

"To provide services and activities for abused, neglected and/or abandoned children under Department of Children and Families care, as well as helping their foster care families.  We are dedicated to reducing the impact that a constantly changing environment can have on a child."

To accomplish their goals they have 16 programs that they offer as well as 14 snnuasl events.  They recieve NO public funding whatsoever, and the organization amassed over 31,000 volunteer hours between June 1, 2000 and June 1, 2001.

The club members were well satisfied at the choice of this worthy organization and we owe a debt to Ray Callahan for bringing them to our attention.
