Bjorn Syse

Outbound to Brazil

2006 - 2007

Youth Exchange and

Other Youth Endeavors

It was a youthful day - the speakers, not the audience.  First off was Bjorn Syse, a Pompano High student we will be sponsoring this year as an Exchange Student and who will be going to Brazil.   He is looking forward to his year abroad and was cheered on by our current inbound student Conny Kleint and inbound from Ecuador (who is sponsored here by the Fort Lauderdale club but whose host parents are Pat and Sam Hornsby).  They were actually here for the breakfast.

Following Bjorn were two fund raising presentations by Tom Pratt's kids.  Tom works hard so we let him get away with it.  Jonathan, Tom's step-son, is participating in a "Rehearse-a-thon" for the Ramblewood Middle School Band to raise funds for the band program.    Mark Pratt is participating in a MS 150 for multiple sclerosis, a disease which Mark explained with a well done Powerpoint presentation.  Mark and his team will be riding 150 miles over two days and hope to raise $1,000 for their effort.  He has logged thousands of miles in his training for this and similar events.
