SENIOR OF THE MONTH

Toni Marie Hudson is just your typical under achiever that John Congemi brings to the club monthly as Senior of the Month.   An outstand scholar athlete she has been All State First Team for three years and was the Sun Sentinal's Player of the year in 2004.  She is a Silver Knight nominee for athletics from Douglas and will be attending George Washington University in the fall.

A though act to follow, but Bert Stein did it.  Fifteen years ago he was told he had three months to live and he should go home and get his stuff together.  He did - he founded Have a Heart which helped people who needed heart transplants to be matched up with acceptable donors.  And Bert himself had a transplant giving him more time to further his cause.  But bureaucracy being what it is, he had to bring Have a Heart to a close due to privacy issues.   He reminded us that only the individual can authorize donations of his or her organs, not family members.  It is therefore important to take the steps necessary to formally let ones wishes know.
