AMBASSADORIAL SCHOLAR CANDIDATE "Second time is a charm" is what Andrew Ward is hoping, and it certainly appears he has the credentials. We will be sponsoring Andrew as one of our two Ambassadorial Candidates and it would be outstanding if we were able to snag two - the other candidate has strong credentials as well.
Andrew was an alternate last year, and will be graduating from South Florida in May - with a minimum Magna Cum Laude and less than one per centage point from Summa Cum Laude. He has listed schools in Hungary, Turkey, Ireland, Australia and New Zeland as his schools of choice and social politics is his area of concentration. He has done internships in Washington DC and Seattle as well as abroad, and is currently holding down three jobs including working on a campaign. He has applied to go to law school (hopefully) after is year as a scholar! We are extremely well represented in this endeavor, and a lot of thanks goes to Pat for her hours of work fine tuning Andrew's written presentations. We have been sent the application of Renan Portelinha of Brazil to be our next Inbound student for year 2006 - 2007. See picture below. Our current student, Conny Kleint, had some of her art work displayed at the recent Douglas High School Arts Festival, and also recently participated in the Ethics Seminar. She is also active in the Interact Club, helping out in the Arbor Day clean-up at the school, and in a fund raiser for Interact she sold the most make-up of all club members. As a reward she attends Rotary meetings regularly as she loves the French toast!
