Brian Archer

Parkland Environmental Resource Director

PARKLAND - TREE CITY

Today our speaker was Brian Archer of the City of Parkland - the official title is Environmental Resource Director, but the title only covers some of his job.  In conjunction with the city engineer, building official and planning department Brian reviews all plans, both large and small, to make sure that all plans are ecologically and agriculturally acceptable.  He mentioned that when landscaping using native material is preferred, and he should know as a licensed landscape architect.  Brian gave us some insight as to what goes in to planning a well landscaped city.

RON SCOTT A PHF!

Well, we have not seen Ron for a while, but when he shows it is  good thing.  In addition to dropping off a bunch of stuff for the upcoming golf tournament, Ron was awarded his first Paul Harris Fellow.  Ron has been in Rotary for many years, and has been in clubs all over Florida, most recently in the Keys, but it took our Al Sherman to convince him that he really needed to join the Paul Harris Club.  We were all glad to see Ron today.  What was with the TIE???  Real image ruiner!!!
