Suellen Souza, our Brazilian Inbound

SCHOLARSHIP DAY

We are a small club, but today we had a packed house (for us) with not only our scholarship award winners but family members and even a couple of advisors as well.  And how could we forget our Exchange Student Suellen Souza who got up early on a vacation day to join us as well.

For the first time our club gave our four $1,000 scholarships to the four public high schools serving Coral Springs and Parkland - Douglas, Taravella, Coral Springs and, for the first time Coral Springs Charter School which is graduating its first senior class.  For pictures of the students being presented their scholarships and family pictures please click HERE.

Each of the students thanked the group for the award and gave a short mention of future plans.  We were as excited to have them and their families as we hope they were to be with us.  A special thanks was also given to Peggy Lammers who is the advisor to the Interact Club at Douglas, and who was also in attendance.

NOTES:

Installation dinner July 13th at Coral Springs Country Club.  Ken working on arrangements and menu - promises to out do the curried goat and oxtail served at the Holiday Party!

Board Meeting Thursday at Wings Plus, as usual.
