A NEW YEAR!! New President and a program on Sleep Disorder - a coincidence??
Rotary year 2003 - 2004 started at its usual early time at Eagle Trace, but a new face was at the podium. Well, considering all the times he had to sub for Dennis it wasn't that new!!! :-) So we are under the leadership of Drew Bartoszek, and kind of like the sausage casings he sells. his decisions are good but you don't want to know how they are made!!! Drew gave a brief outline of some goals and ideas for the year ahead. Each month we will have a speaker from the District speaking about Rotary or general information about things going on in the District in order to educate new members and keep the old farts up to speed as well. We all share the same enthusiasm and hopes for another great year for this motley band of Rotarians!
Warren Goodman provided our speaker, Melissa Bynes, from the Coral Springs Medical Center. The hospital and a Sleep Disorders Center and Ms. Bymes has several degrees in the area. She spoke about the various symptoms associated with sleep disorder and the causes for same. She also spoke about some of the treatment for things such as snoring, insomnia, narcolepsy and similar disorders. Someone had the foresight to wake up the membership after Drew's introductory remarks to the talk was well received. |
