A NEW ROTARY YEAR!!! |
HOORAY |
FOR |
HARDY! |
It is often difficult to loose a member of a club, for whatever reason - job change, move out of the area, whatever - but when Hardy went on "leave of absence" our small club lost a great member - for a while. But he is BACK!! In the flesh, and it is great to have him back not only as a member, but an ACTIVE member. He will chair our golf tournament next year. Typical Hardy - if you are gonna do it, do it right!! Welcome Back!!

Now the "web nerd" does not typically dote on any particular member as is the case today. However, our speaker getter for the day, Dennis Parker (classification COMMUNICATIONS!!) couldn't communicate with one, and our Prez Gloria and our Golf Tourney Chair in Reserve warned the web nerd that he would be singing in the Vienna Boy's Choir if he didn't make Hardy feel REAL at home again. The Web Nerd did sit next to Ken Greenwood who just got back from a missionary trip to Honduras to help rebuild after serious hurricane damage. While trying to eat a bowl of oatmeal the Web Nerd got a preview of Ken's upcoming program about the trip, including a graphic description having a lot to do with Montezuma. Please forgive the Web Nerd if there is no report on the actual program - there is a schedule conflict! OTHER NEWS THE ACE WAS PULLED!!!!! Of course it was the ace of diamonds, but what the hay!! Club voted to give $500 to Animals in Distress as a thank you to Chris Sisto of the Goodyear Blimp operations who has donated blimp rides that have netted the club over $1,500 in donations at the last two golf tourneys. Chris is very active in the charitable organization. |
