On To Osaka
A really special meeting today with our about to be Outbound to Japan student Edi Bibergall doing the presentation he will be doing in Osaka in a few weeks. Luckily for us it was in English - next time it is in Japanese. The presentation, intended for his host club, the Osaka Evening Club, was about his country, state, city and Edi himself. He also brought along lots of display items about his school and his scouting that he will share with his Japanese hosts.
Edi will be a representative of our club, but also the cities of Coral Springs and Parkland, from which our club name is derived (obviously!) We were honored to have city Commissioners from each city - Bob Marks, Vice Mayor of Parkland and Rhonda Calhoun of Coral Springs. Additionally we were also host to Joyce Campos, Community Relations Manager for the City of Coral Springs and, coincidently the mother of Janine Campos, currently a short term exchange student to Costa Rica, coordinated by our club. It was a true pleasure to have all of these fine folks at our meeting, we appreciate their coming, and would welcome them back!! |
