MIAMI DOLPHINS and other stuff
Today we had the pleasure of hearing one of the most energetic speakers we have had in a while. Marcus Madlock, Account Manager for Premium Seating at Dolphin Stadium, did talk a little about his current position. But most of his address was about a very interesting career in the sports industry. An Aggie from Texas A & M (with an announced disdain for the Longhorns) he grew up a Cowboys fan to whom he remains loyal (even though he works for the Dolphins and his cousin was former Dolphin player Richmond Webb). He interned at the Texas Rangers and then got a real job with them before moving to South Florida to work for the Florida Panthers. Gaining a reputation in the industry he was spirited away to New Orleans for a couple of years before being contacted by his former boss at the Panthers, now working for the Dolphins, to take over premium seating for them. Premium seating includes Club and Suite locations.
He concluded by relating his experience of going to the Hall of Fame incudtion of Dan Marino in nothing other than the Dolphin's charter plane! And the real highlight was when Wayne Huizinga came up to him and addressed him by name!
We hope he can make it back here - although coming up from Miami Beach is a stretch! |
