YOUTH EXCHANGE

Today was youth exchange day at the club, and we were entertained by Edi Bibergall, out outbound student who spent the better part of the year in Osaka, Japan.  Edi had studied Japanese for the past there years at Pompano High School, and so his transition was not quite as hard as some of his classmates.  He said he preferred to spend time with his Japanese hosts rather than other exchange students, and for that reason he was more comfortable with the language than others.  He dispelled some stereotypes of Japanese people - they are short (nope, as tall as he is) or they are shy (nope, just not really good in English for the most part, and thus they feel conscious about expressing themselves in English).  Edi and his Mom, Jeannie, will be hosting Tomo, a Japanese girl who also will attend Pompano high School with Edi.

Also in attendance was Javier Garcia, out outbound to Taiwan.  His days are numbered!!  And soon out inbounds, Charly and Stephan, both from Germany, will be gracing our presence.
