OCTOBER 9, 2001 MEETING

A big turn out!

Our speaker today was Jack Miller, a local CPA and the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of Coral Springs' committee for  "Thanksgiving/Holiday Cheer".  Their idea is to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for 420 needy families in the Coral Springs area, the families being selected by the fire and police departments in the city.  Thanks to Publix each family will get a coupon for $30, which the store has provided at a discount to the committee, and that will be enough to provide a turkey "and all the trimmings" for these families.  Our help was solicited, both as a club and individually and it is hoped that we will get involved in some form or fashion.

NOTES:

Softball game postponed as the weenies in the Kiwanis Club couldn't find a field - they put the Mayor in charge of that task!!

Golf tourney set for May 18, 2002.

Part of the crowd listening to our speaker.  Only TWO members were not there!!!  Any idea who???
