Phyllis Malcolm

Greyhound Rescue

This is NOT Dennis

Goin' to the Dogs

There were more animals in the room today than our membership.  Terry Witcher arranged for Phyllis Malcolm to be our speaker, and she brought with her three greyhounds that she and her associates rescued as part of their Greyhound Rescue.  These dogs were all racing dogs that either were past their prime or who had limited racing success.  She described the treatment the animals get, both during their careers and afterwards, and brought pictures which graphically showed the inhumane treatment they suffer.  Phyllis and the others that work with her help place these animals in good homes, and she stressed that they make great pets and companions.  Amazingly these are very docile animals that can live in relatively confined spaces, and that is how they were raised from birth.  A few minutes to "let off steam" a day and they are happy!!

And they didn't eat much breakfast - probably because the waitress gave them each the wrong order!

New Member - Kathi Mosier

Prez Fill In Drew "reads" the induction ritual - if we get enough new members maybe he will memorize it!!

The lifeblood of any organization is new members, and today we inducted Kathi Mosier in the classification of Financial Planning.  We are happy to have her aboard as our latest member, and next in line to be a female President!!!
