District Governor Roland Benson
Delayed by one of a number of
hurricanes we suffered this year, the annual visit from the
District 6990 Governor Roland Benson was held today at a
well attended and interested meeting. Roland is a
member of the RC of Fort Lauderdale South and has had a
diverse career, currently being employed by the North
Broward Hospital District. His reoccurring theme was
the motto of Rotary, "Service Above Self."
In addition to the usual tasks
Roland presented a first time Paul Harris Fellow to Todd
Dayton; was given a check for $500 from the club in support
of the District's Youth Ethics Initiative; and received a
club banner from our exchange student Andrea from Italy.
And Marcus had the opportunity to draw for the 50/50 pot -
now over $1,000! |
