Hannover, Part Deux

and

Bari Levenson, Senior of the Month

Lots of things going on today.  First before Assistant Principal of Douglas High School John Congemi could introduce this month's Senior of the Month President Drew announced that John has been named our first "Honorary Rotarian" ever!  John was an honorary member of a club to our south but he forgot the name of that club (JOKE!)   Thereafter John introduced Bari Levenson, the November Senior of the Month, chosen by all of the faculty at Douglas.  Bari spoke of her accomplishments (many), activities (many) and the well known colleges to which she has applied.  Prez Drew presented her with a $50 gife certificate from Boarders, which now will be presented to each Senior of the Month.  (John was given certificates for the past two monthly choices.)

Our speaker was Charlotte (Charly) Kleint of Hannover, Germany.  She is one of our two exchange students this year and actually spoke several weeks ago.  But alas we did not know at that time that she had slides for a slide show - do you remember slides??  And we were not prepared at that time, but we were today, to the best of our abiity.  And some great pictures we saw of Hannover, and the very interesting archetecture, not to mention old, very OLD buildings.  It is amazing that we are in the city of Coral Springs which is celebrating its 40th year, and the NEW City Hall in Hannover was built in 1901!!  Great job, Charly!
