SENIOR OF THE MONTH

CRAFT TALKS

We see, to be getting back to a semi-state of normal now that the hurricane stuff has passed, but of course we are now in the "holiday" season.  There is always a reason to not come to a meeting - but never a good one.

Today we started out with our regular end of the month update about Douglas High School from Vice Principal John Congemi who reported that the school suffered about $40,000 in damages from Wilma but on the filp side was one of only a hand full of schools being awarded a 5 start status.  And the work on the new stadium is progressing.

John then introduced the Senior of the Month, Andrew Blasi who is hoping to get into William and Mary College in Williamsburg, Va. to pursue a career in social sciences and eventually get into government work.  He gave a great presentation, worthy of the debate team of which he is a member.

Then it was time for the craft talks.  First was Pat Short Hornsby, where upon Al beat feet:

we are sure that was not an editorial comment on Pat's about to be given presentation.

Pat Short Hornsby

Pat gave a humorous presentation of her career from being an accounting major at SMU to moving on to journalism to banking to real estate to finally getting back to what she wanted from the age of 6 - being a writer and actually making a living at it.  Pat creates marketing pieces for her clientele and still maintains her real estate license for extra bucks.  She should teach the web nerd how to write.

Paul Marineau

Raised in New Hampshire and having lived in Florida for many years, with a background in the medical field as a nurse he moved to South Florida and began a career in real estate investing and is a licensed real estate salesman.  He spoke about current investment opportunities in the pre-construction market in which he deals all over the state of Florida, where opportunities abound.
