The State of the City

Coral Springs Mayor Rhon Enest Jones

Mayor Rhon Ernest-Jones addressed the club and spoke about the managerial and organizational structure of the city, its business plan process and resultant successful budgetary process, and the fine job the city and its staff and first responders did in the recent hurricane. Hurricane Wilma will cost the city about $5MM, after FEMA & other reimbursements. However, city management has taken a conservative budget approach for many years, keeping about $17MM in reserves for just such occurrences. This is why our town was able to have the resources available to pay the truckers and personnel needed to get out on our street and clean up quickly.

Mayor Rhon gives a lame excuse as to why beer sales were suspended after hurricane Wilma
