SENIOR OF THE MONTH

DIEGO SAAVEDRA

The day after a holiday usually means slack attendance, but today we had more than usual, more impressive due to some last minute confusion as to where we are meeting.  Seems as how ET can't quite decide if they are open or not the day after a Monday holiday.  They weren't.

The final "Senior of the Month" was presented, as usual, by Assistant Principal John Congemi.   John, who is not sure if he is returning next year or not, but he will surely be remembered for all of his achievements in the world of Broward education, not just at Douglas.  Partners in Excellence and the Ethical Seminars are just two of John's passions, along with his Senior of the Month presentations both here and at the local Kiwanis club.  We sure hope he comes back around to see us.

The Senior of the Month is Diego Saavedra, a resident of the United States for only three years, having come here from Peru with his family.   After his successful graduation from Stoneman Douglas Diego will be attending FAU to pursue a career in business.
